The brand is named after its founder, Venezuelan designer Carolina Herrera, who has created an empire in the fashion and beauty industry by connecting with the empowered spirit of the modern, self-made woman, as she explained: "I have a responsibility to today's woman: to make her feel confident, modern and, above all, beautiful. Renowned for the glamour and femininity of its designs, the brand debuted in perfumery in 1988 with the perfume Carolina Herrera, a scent representing timeless elegance and haute couture with a bouquet of white flowers. It was followed in 1991 by its first fragrance for men, Carolina Herrera for Men. The brand has enjoyed great success in perfumery with the 212, CH and Good Girl families and has explored the codes of niche fragrances with the Herrera Confidential line, designed to capture the essence of The House of Herrera with olfactory compositions that reflect the utmost elegance.
