Est. in: Normandy, France, 1947
Fashion and perfume have been linked since the inception of the Dior house, synonymous with femininity par excellence. Even its first fashion collection, presented in 1947, was accompanied by a perfume, the legendary Miss Dior. This marked the beginning of a new vision of women's fashion, termed New Look, to express a sophisticated style and a different silhouette for women. From the very start, Christian Dior was clear that he wanted a fragrance for his maison and began working with perfumer Paul Vacher to create 'a perfume that smells like love,' Miss Dior. From that moment on, fragrances became a fashion accessory to be used according to the occasion: Diorissimo, Eau Sauvage, Poison, Dune, J’Adore, and Fahrenheit are some of its memorable perfumes. Since 2021, perfumer Francis Kurkdjian has been serving as the creative director of Dior perfumes, succeeding François Demachy, who worked for 15 years as the brand’s perfumer.
