The French niche perfumery house Matière Première was founded in 2019 by perfumer Aurélien Guichard. As its name ("raw materials" in French) suggests, it is distinguished by the extraordinary care it takes over the ingredients used to create its scents, which gives them a distinctive and authentic touch. For example, the roses he uses are grown in Grasse, on land owned by the firm. Guichard's inspiration connects with nature from which he captures the purest essence that he expresses through olfactory compositions of apparent simplicity and which give prominence to a single element. Santal Austral, Radical Rose, Parisian Musc, Crystal Saffron and Vanilla Powder are some of the fragrances that make up his exquisite collection.
