ABOUT Yves Saint Laurent

Yves Saint Laurent's creative talent extends beyond fashion. At the age of 18, he was hired as an assistant to Christian Dior to replace him three years later, after the latter's sudden death. In 1961, he would start his own fashion house, together with Pierre Bergé, characterised by bold designs and, above all, by introducing the men's dinner jacket suit into women's wardrobes and launching a ready-to-wear line that made luxury fashion more accessible. YSL perfumes have also marked the history of 20th century perfumery with such groundbreaking creations as the first Y (1964), Rive Gauche (1971), Opium (1977), Kouros (1981), Paris (1983) and Libre (2019), which have become modern classics. The brand's olfactory creations are distinguished by their intensity to challenge the senses and a penchant for powerful ingredients such as amber, leather, spices and black coffee.
