Indian Jasmine
Jasmin - den evigt populære hjertenote - er højt eftertragtet og bruges flittigt i parfumeri. Som en duftkamæleon er jasmin herligt alsidig: gennemsigtig og lysende som topnote og overraskende animalsk og sensuel som blød basisnote. Dens elegante, berusende karakteristika blander sig til en intens bølge af fyldig holdbarhed. Jasmin balancerer femininitet og maskulinitet til perfektion og udsender en umiskendelig kraftfuld duft, der både er blomstret og frugtig.
Indisk jasmin er den højest værdsatte og mest duftende af alle jasmin-arter. Den lille blomstrende busk bliver omkring en meter høj og bred og trives i fuld til halvskygge. De hvide flerbladede blomster er ekstremt duftende.

Historie
In India, during harvest time, women wade through bushes from sunrise to sunset, picking only the small buds that are still closed. All the flowers are gathered and brought to a wholesale market. Jasmine is a gift from God to women, used as offerings, in beauty, hair and perfume. Jasmine holds a special place in different regions and different times in history. In Grasse, they affectionately refer to jasmine as The Flower. In China, jasmine symbolizes femininity and gentleness. The flower came to be associated with the Virgin Mary in medieval art. The Hindus call it forest moonlight. The essential oil can be used to treat dry or irritated skin, while in Asia it's used to flavor tea and food.
Produktion
Native to the Himalayan valleys, the jasmine flower is grown in several countries around the world. India and Egypt are top producers, while smaller amounts are produced in Morocco, Italy and France. With more than 200 varieties of jasmine, there are actually only two used in perfumery: the Jasmine Grandiflorum and the Jasmine Sambac. The blooming season for Jasmine Grandiflorum is from June to October, with the best flowers being gathered in July and August. Extraction with solvent is the most commonly used method to obtain a concrete from which absolutes are derived after washing it with alcohol. Hexane is the most widely used solvent.
