Aldehydes are organic compounds found in various natural elements. Aldehydes used in perfume have a fresh, almost soapy smell. Their role in perfumery is to heighten the scent of each note, like making the aroma of rose smell more bubbly and airy, while green notes become fresher, and gourmand notes become soft and lighter. Aldehydes are also used to enhance the projection of a scent, also known as sillage.
UDFORSK DUFTE MED ALDEHYDESMint’s bracing, fresh, and sweet spice energizes perfume with its healthy, palate-cleansing bite. It’s snowy cool edge sharpens sweeter citrus notes, and provides an excellent contrast for heated spices like cardamom, pepper, and coriander. Mint is similar to lavender’s fresh, breathtakingly clean scent, but stays very cool and isn’t as soapy or herbal as lavender can be. It’s sharp, green, mentholated energy is a perfect accent to winter’s chill, and offers sweet relief from heavy and humid summers.
UDFORSK DUFTE MED MINTLavender is one of the oldest, and most common perfume ingredients in the world. It’s gentlemanly, scrubbed, soapy/powdery feel is a staple of men’s colognes. Lavender has a slightly spicy edge as well, which makes it a universally blendable note in perfume. It can add a clean edge to aromatic or animalic scents, and deepen zesty citrus notes with its subtle, herbal facets. But most of all, lavender is associated with fresh, clean, pure, old-school elegance. It’s well-heeled sophistication is appropriate for any time of year, and it makes an excellent choice for either sex to wear casually or formally.
